FAQ

Your questions, answered

Will the extraction be painful?+
No. We use effective local anaesthesia before the procedure. You will feel pressure and movement but no pain. If you feel anything, tell us immediately and more anaesthesia will be applied.
How long does recovery take?+
The socket heals over 1–2 weeks. Most patients experience only mild soreness for 1–3 days, managed with prescribed pain relief.
What is a dry socket?+
Dry socket occurs when the blood clot in the socket is dislodged — causing increased pain. It is rare and treated easily. Following our aftercare instructions (no straws, no spitting, no smoking) prevents it.
Can I eat after an extraction?+
Stick to soft, cold foods (yoghurt, ice cream, mashed foods) for the first 24 hours. Avoid hot, hard, and spicy foods. Normal eating resumes after a few days.
Do I need to replace the extracted tooth?+
Yes — in almost all cases. A missing tooth causes neighbouring teeth to drift, opposing teeth to overerupt, and bone loss. We'll discuss the best replacement option at your visit.
